On weekdays, Baan Chumphae functions as a grandparents' house. On weekends, their children along with their families come back home from their business branches out of town. Although 7 Bedrooms are needed, only 1 will be occupied for most of the time.

The separated 3-storey mass creates cosiness on the ground floor for the grandparents when the house is empty. At the same time, the penetrating central core interrelatedly connects the whole family when the house is fully occupied.
